As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Arizona) was shot in the head, and Chief Judge John Roll of the U.S. District Court for Arizona was killed in an attack in Tuscon, AZ, today. In total, six people (including Roll and a nine-year-old girl) were killed, and twelve (including Giffords) were wounded, allegedly by Jared Lee Loughner, a 22-year-old Arizona man.
UPDATE: As Dave correctly noted in the comment below, it appears that Loughner’s plan had nothing to do with Palin’s website or “crosshairs” metaphor. With that in mind, it seems most appropriate to redact the rest of the original post.
